Several decades ago it was hard to imagine a woman getting a significant position in the world, especially in Russia. However, years went on and quite soon it became achievable that a woman transformed from a wife, mother and keeper of family’s peace to a person of international meaning. Years in between 1872 and 1952 were considered so bright and full of unstoppable changes that it is rather complicated to describe the period in several words. As for the political side of the life, Russia of those days experienced social movement, demonstration of the 9th January, 1905, creation and collapse of the Social Democratic Party, the First Revolution, the First World War, the February Revolution, the October Revolution and a wide range of other events of no less importance that created and formed the most outstanding figures of these eighty years.
One of those political candidates was Alexandra Kollontai, the first woman ambassador. Being the world's first ambassador of women, she also was the authorized and trade representative in Norway since 1923, in Mexico – since 1926, Plenipotentiary Representative of Norway – since 1927, messenger – in 1930-1945, and then she became the Soviet Ambassador in Sweden. Her name is covered with legends, as its owner is one of the most successful and mysterious women of the Soviet Russia. Alexandra Kollontai was not only an exceptional politician and bright personality, but also the authors of a row of feminist articles, novels and booklets.
Therefore, the goal of the given research is to study Alexandra Kollontai’s figure as the first woman ambassador. In order to achieve it, the following targets are to be set:
1. To study Alexandra Kollontai’s first steps in her career;
2. To look at Alexandra Kollontai’s reforms and ideas;
3. To define Alexandra Kollontai’s influence to the world.
Thus, the object of the research is Russian history, whereas the subject is the period of Alexandra Kollontai’s living that is 1872-1952.
According to the subject, the aims and the problems of our research we use several research methods in our work such as theory as a system of logically interconnected statements, formalization and introspection.
This term paper’s relevance can be due to the facts that Kollontai’s views had great practical significance for the development of Russian statehood as well as that Kollontai’s ideas remain vital in the spectrum of modernity.
The research consists of the contents, the introduction, two chapters, the conclusion and the sources of used literature, containing theoretical sources of knowledge.
